Our Basic Beliefs and Teachings
- There is one God, the Father, the one God of the creed of Israel affirmed by Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 8:6; Mark 12:28ff.
- There is one Lord Messiah, the sinless and only begotten Son of God, Jesus, who was foreordained from the foundation of the world and supernaturally conceived and born of the virgin Mary. - Luke 1:32, 33, 35; 3:22; 1 Peter 1:18-20.
- The Holy Spirit is the personal, operational presence and power of God extended through the risen Christ to believers. - Psalm 51:11; Romans 8:11.
- The Bible is the inspired and authoritative revelation of God, the only reliable source of doctrine and practice for Christians. - 2 Timothy 3:16.
- Man was created innocent, but through disobedience to God became destined for death, namely, the cessation of all life and consciousness, and thus all persons are sinful and mortal and in need of salvation. - Romans 3:9-11; 6:23.
- Salvation: We believe that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16) and is obedient to Christ. - Hebrews 5:9.
- Jesus Christ will visibly return to the earth to raise the faithful dead to life, to establish the millennial Kingdom and to bring about the restoration of the earth, as promised by the prophets. - 1 Corinthians 15:23; Acts 1:6; 3:21; 26:6,7.
- The Church of God is the scriptural name for that body of people who have been called out from among all nations through obedience to the Gospel. - 1 Corinthians 1:2; 2 Corinthians 1:1; Ephesians 5:23-25; 1 Timothy 3:15.
- The Gospel message about the Kingdom has regenerating power, enabling the believer to understand divine revelation and to live a life of holiness. - Matthew 13:19; Luke 8:12; John 6:63.
- Upon reception of the Gospel of the Kingdom and the things concerning Jesus, a believer must be baptized by immersion. - Acts 8:12; Luke 24:27.
- In accordance with God's covenant with them, Israel will be restored to Palestine as the head of the nations in the Kingdom of God. - Ezekiel 36:21-32.
- The saved of all ages will administer the renewed earth with the Messiah in the Kingdom of God. - 1 Corinthians 6:2; 2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 2:26; 3:21; 5:10.
